Getting to know Las Colinas

Las Colinas is a planned district within Irving, with an urban-center area around Lake Carolyn and the Mandalay Canal. Canalside paths, commercial buildings and entertainment destinations give this part of the community a different setting from its residential subdivisions.

The Las Colinas Association publishes information about parks and individual residential associations. Campion Trail provides another recreation route in Irving, separate from the Lake Carolyn and canal walks. It is helpful to identify a particular subdivision or urban-center building rather than describing every Las Colinas address the same way.

Places to know

Lake Carolyn. A lake at the center of the Las Colinas urban-center area.

Mandalay Canal. A canalside pedestrian setting with businesses and nearby residences.

Campion Trail. Irving’s larger river-trail system provides a separate outdoor route.

Check at the address, not the town name

  • Review both Las Colinas Association requirements and any sub-association documents for the specific property.
  • Distinguish the canal and lake paths from the Campion Trail route and check the actual entrance closest to the address.
  • School attendance zones, flood risk, HOA obligations, utilities and property taxes follow the exact address. Use current records: TEA school district locator, FEMA flood maps, county appraisal districts.
