Getting to know Lower Greenville

Greenville Avenue is an East Dallas dining and nightlife corridor with restaurants, patios and small shops. Lower Greenville and Lowest Greenville are labels used for stretches of the avenue and the surrounding blocks, rather than a city with its own services.

A visit is most informative when it includes both the storefront corridor and the residential streets behind it. Visit Dallas’s guide identifies places such as Truck Yard and Greenville Avenue Pizza Company, but business hours and the level of evening activity can change over time.

Places to know

Greenville Avenue. The avenue is the district’s main dining and shopping reference point.

Truck Yard. An outdoor food-and-drink venue listed in the official visitor guide.

Surrounding East Dallas blocks. Residential streets sit close to the commercial corridor; evaluate the individual block.

Check at the address, not the town name

  • Compare a weekday visit with an evening visit near the specific address to understand nearby venue activity and parking.
  • Check city zoning and any conservation-district designation for the actual parcel before assuming the entire Greenville area follows one set of development rules.
  • School attendance zones, flood risk, HOA obligations, utilities and property taxes follow the exact address. Use current records: TEA school district locator, FEMA flood maps, county appraisal districts.
