Getting to know Uptown

Uptown is immediately north of downtown Dallas, with McKinney Avenue, neighborhood parks and retail streets providing several distinct activity centers. Klyde Warren Park connects the downtown Arts District and the Uptown side of Woodall Rodgers Freeway.

The McKinney Avenue Trolley circulates through Uptown and connects with DART at Cityplace/Uptown Station. Griggs Park provides another local outdoor space. A specific address can be close to a trolley stop, the Katy Trail or a park, but these are separate routes and access points.

Check at the address, not the town name

  • Check the current trolley map and the pedestrian route from the building, including street crossings and the last part of the trip.
  • For a condominium or apartment, compare building parking, guest access and association rules as well as the surrounding street amenities.
  • School attendance zones, flood risk, HOA obligations, utilities and property taxes follow the exact address. Use current records: TEA school district locator, FEMA flood maps, county appraisal districts.
